Governors roles and objectives
Governors of the school seek to use their best abilities to assist the school in achieving its vision to provide the best possible provision for its students to develop their full potential for full and active lives and to ensure that the school looks after and safeguards all of its members. As governors, we have pledged to have the wellbeing of the children and the reputation of the school at heart, to be ambassadors of the school and to support its aims, values and ethos. We also work with the school to set its vision, values and objectives. We provide strategic oversight for the school – reviewing its leadership and management, ensuring it has appropriate policies in place for statutory and other requirements, supporting staff wellbeing and setting and monitoring the school’s budgets. Most importantly, we meticulously review how the school is achieving its objectives in terms of teaching and learning, achievement and assessment, safety and communication and preparing students for adulthood. We contribute our own experiences of education and other walks of life to the school’s work in these areas. Lastly, we seek to provide an outside, independent perspective to help the school identify potential risks and potential opportunities as it continues its development."
